The screen shuts off quickly to save battery life, via the STO (Screen Time Out) setting, you can adjust how long it stays on.
You can turn the screen on by pressing the inductive button on the left side of the device, shaking your wrist slightly, or tapping on the screen lightly.
Based on your state of mind or the look you want to have for the day, you can personalize it with different watch faces.
For instance, you can select the Mod Clock / Date, which shows your days current time, date, and step count.
Other clock faces show additional metrics, such as your Heart rate and Active Zone Minutes.
The interface is simple and uncluttered.
Swiping up from the clock face enables you to observe fitness stats, including your steps taken that day. Also current and resting heart rate.
In addition, you can monitor calories burned. Distance covered, Floors climbed, your weight, Sleep data, water intake, etc.
By swiping left, you will have access to Exercise, Agenda, Timers, Relax, Weather, Alarms, and Settings.

We found the health tracking feature most impressive to use the Charge 4’s GPS. Just select one of the compatible workouts. So it's effortless. Wait for the GPS signal and then tap Start.
We used the feature for various activities from a Run, Walking, Hiking, Biking, and a quick interval training exercise. As a result, it works great.
The Charge 4 shows your Distance, Pace, and Time on the screen during our activities.
A feature that is sure to please everyone is when you reach Fat burn, Cardio, or Peak zone, The Charge 4 will vibrate and show an encouraging notification on the screen.
After completing the activity in which you were engaged the Charge 4 shows a summary, including the length of your workout, how many miles you traveled, your average pace, how many Active Zone Minutes you accrued, your average and max heart rate, how many calories you burned, the number of steps you took, and how high you climbed.
The next feature we liked was in the exercise section of the Fitbit App. Its color-coded, breaking down your workout with an intensity map. Charge 4 also has active zone minutes.
You can accurately measure how hard you pushed yourself during your activity based on age and resting Heart rate. Ideally, the target default goal is 150 active zone minutes a week or 22 a day.
Fitbit says by reaching these levels, for example, you can prevent disease, reduce anxiety, and improve cognitive function and sleep, among other benefits.
Along with the other activities I mentioned, the Fitbit Charge 4 has various options, including Bootcamp, kickboxing, martial arts, Pilates, spinning, tennis, etc.

Sleep tracking has been available on Fitbit devices since the original Charge. Still the Fitbit Charge 4 presents some sleep tools that were previously only accessible on the more expensive smartwatch.

The ability to see your Sleep Score on your wrist, and Sleep Mode, which dims the display and silences all calls and texts at night, is an advanced feature that the Charge 4 makes very comfortable to wear even as you sleep.
